Today’s consumers and web visitors are demanding more protection than ever from the prying eyes of hackers and intrusive data breaches when they come to your site. If they do not see the HTTPS sign, they will probably leave, never to ever return. So how do you remedy the situation to protect information and gain the absolute trust of your online visitors?

It is called an SSL certificate and what it does is to encrypt the data between a server and a web browser. Up to the very recent past, SSL was required only for sites accepting credit cards and other financial information. The rules of the game have however changed dramatically, with more online platforms and service providers, opting to comply. Many of the more informed and technologically savvy web visitors, are themselves insisting on a secure online interaction.

Without the HTTPS, Google Chrome is already alerting visitors that any information they give, including name and email, is not secure. This obviously raises a red flag right at the front engagement with the website in question and can visitors away.

In fact if you have not checked your website to see if it has the HTTPS in the URL, you could already be at great risk. What is even worse for any website owner, is that your search rankings can be affected slowing your traffic altogether. Traffic is at the heart of any online based business and if you do not have enough, it can negatively affect, revenue, turnover and profits.

In early 2017, Google began flagging sites without the SSL protocol, which is the International Sign of website security. They even intend to get much tougher from 2018 onwards, if your URL does not begin with HTTPS. You will feel the penalties no doubt because web security is no longer a luxury, but an absolute necessity, especially in the widespread occurrence of cyber crime and online fraud. Hackers always try to stay one chapter ahead of the game, and looking for any loopholes within the security of a site.

Let us all become realistic here and face it that you have worked hard to build your business via an online platform, so why risk losing it. Reduced or lost traffic and revenues is really silly just because you passed up on the opportunity to secure your site today. Before you know it, and without SSL protection, your business could certainly be headed into an irreversible downward spiral.

Try and take full control right now, and consciously prevent that from happening. Your site needs an SSL certificate fix, and you need to fix it fast. Do not be like other uninformed competitors who maybe putting their business or online visitor’s security at risk any longer.

Now is the time to send the hackers and prying eyes packing and get a permanent solution for a headache that is not going to remove itself anytime soon. The solution could be straightforward or somewhat complicated. The point is however that if you are unsure, just consult with a reputable and affordable SSL Certificate Services Provider.

You need to fix the security of your site today, before it’s too late.
